spontaneity

February 10th, 2007

this is one of my favorite words for the sound and the meaning of it!  i love spontaneous people ( most if not all my friends are ), spontaneous writing,  spontaneous  conversations and what have you.

today’s the most spontaneous day yet for the year 2007. i found the best way for me to read the newspaper from front page to the last, headline ro obituary — offer to see a friend to the airport whose flight out of manila is 6 am. drive to the airport at 4 am. of course take a cab back towards home but just before it reaches home ask to be dropped at my favorite luneta park. walk to jollibee maria orosa branch thinking of breakfast meal A1. the thing is the place is closed  yet at 5:30 am so decide to have coffe somewhere else. think starbucks but no more planner to be given away so opt for seven eleven that sell a cup of coffee for 12 pesos.  because  it feels silly to just sit there and sip coffee, buy something to read. magazines are too much so grab the newspaper instead. before being able to read half of the paper, seven eleven decides to turn off the light so it gets pretty uncomfortable to read. stand up, get out and walk to roxas boulevard and wait for sunrise.however  the brain decided to malfunction, it’s a quarter to seven, the place is no longer dusk but bright but there was no sight of a sun rising.  silly brain failed to think!failed to realize the sun rises at the back of the tall buildings facing the bay. there’s nothing better or more viable to do than read the paper. can’t do aerobics or tae-bo, ride a bicycle or sell peanut or corn, or toys for tots so really the paper is the way to go—i say the february 11,2007 paper is the luckiest paper i ever got hold of for having been treated like a novel.

it was still early and the warm sun and chilly breeze felt so great i continued walking till i wound up at my favorite park. i went to the orchidarium and boy was i in for a lovely surprise. it’s the loveliest place ever. nice landscape,   flowers that give off that sweet and spiced scent , very clean surrounding, and a "manong" watering the plants who said to me in english " good morning ma’am! please take this path ( pointing east )". i leisurely strode the narrow walks, crossed mini bridges until i got to some greenhouse that looked like three boxes placed beside each other the middle being elevated slightly. when i got in the first "box" i thought it was also nice with all the variety of ferns and other small plants. then i got to the middle "box" and i sighed blissfully. it had a mini wooden bridge and underneath’s a  very clear water rushing from a  cascade that’s a mini and better version of that one they had in one of the pools in dakak. as i crossed the mini bridge, the pretty foliage touched my head. the next "box" was magical. it’s a butterfly garden and i was awestruck.there were so many of them in different sizes and color and they seem to love the attention. amazing!i was so delighted that i flashed smiles unabashedly at every "manong" that greeted me. i greeted them back and wished them a good day ahead.

i planned to have breakfast at jollibee (still ) while i was walking home but i aborted the plan and now here i am writing this with no idea now where to eat because my stomach’s grumbling.
